Statistics is the science of understanding and managing uncertainty and is ultimately concerned with using theory and methods to extract information from data to solve real world problems.
Statisticians, the scientists who collect and analyze data, work in all areas from agriculture to zoology. As governments and business rely more on data-driven decisions, the demand for statisticians is greatly expanding.
